Distribution: Apennines, Eastern Alps, mountains of northern part of Balkan Peninsula; grassland, screes. 

Tufted perennial 10-15 cm high. Two basal leaves reniform, coarse toothed at apex. Corolla 12-15 mm across, golden-yellow. Fl. spring.

 

Geographische Verbreitung: Apenninen, Ost-Alpen, Gebirge des nördlichen Teil der Balkanhalbinsel; alpine Rasen, Geröllhalden.

 

Staude 10-15 cm hoch. Zwei Grundblätter nierenförmig, an der Spitze grob gezähnt. Blütemkrone 12-15 mm breit, goldgelb. Blütezeit Frühling.

Distribution: C and SE Europe, 1300-2800 m above sea level; grassy and stony habitats. 

Tufted perennial 5-10 cm high. Basal leaves rounded overall, deep lobed, matt green. Flowers usually solitary, 15 mm diameter, white. Fl. V-VI.

Staude 5-10 cm hoch. Grundblätter abgerundet, tief gelappt, mattgrün. Blüten meist einzeln, 15 mm Durchmesser, weiß. Blütezeit V-VI.

Perennial mats-forming. Leaf rosettes ca.0.5 cm in diameter, compact. Leaves lime-encrusted. Flowering stems 5-10 cm high. Inflorescence 4-5-flowered. Flowers large, white. Fl. VI.

 

Geographische Verbreitung: Gebirge von C-und S-Europa; Geröll, Felsen, auf Kalk.

 

Mattenbildende Staude. Blattrosetten ca.0, 5 cm Durchmesser, kompakt. Blätter mit Kalk verkrustet. Blütenstiele 5-10 cm hoch. Blütenstand 4-5 blütig. Blüten groß, weiß. Blütezeit VI.

Distribution: Arctic, mountains of Europe, Asia and North America, up to the alpine level; crevices, rock shelves.

Perennial cushion- or loose mat-forming, evergreen, 1-5 cm high. Leaves in rosette, gray green, with hydatodes at apex. Flowers singly, 10-20 cm across, pink to lilac. Fl. IV-V.

Distribution: SE Alps. 

Perennial mat-forming of small leaf rosettes. Leaves ca. 0.4 cm long, linear. Flowering stems 5-8 cm long. Flowers 2-5 per stem, large, white. Fl. V-VI.

Perennial terrestrial or epipetric. Stems 5-30 cm long or more, creeping. Main stems branched throughout, reddish or brown.

 

Geographische Verbreitung: China, Afghanistan, Himalaya, Kashmir, Mongolei, Nepal, Russland (Sibirien), 1400-3500 m; Kalkfelsen.

 

Immergrüne Staude. Stämme 5-30 cm lang oder mehr, schleich. Hauptstamm reich verzweigt, rötlich oder braun.

 

Distribution: NE Asia, Japan, NW North America, up to 2400 m; dry rocky slopes, rocky crevices, grassy tundra.

Perennial loose mat-forming up to 50 cm or more diameter. Stems many, erect to decumbent. Flower singly, sessile or short-pedicellate, to 12 mm long, bright yellow. Fl. IV-V.

Mattenbildende Staude bis zu 50 cm Durchmesser. Stämme viele, aufrechte bis niederliegende. Blüten einzeln, sitzend oder kurz gestielt, bis 12 mm lang, leuchtend gelb. Blütezeit IV-V.

Distribution: Alps, Apennines, Carpathians; rocky or grassy slopes, acid.

Tufted perennial 10 cm tall, woody at base, white or grey woolly. Basal leaves pinnatifid or lobes. Flowerheads 1.2-1.5 cm across, 6-8 composed in dense corymbs. Flowers yellow. Fl. V-VI. 

Distribution: E Pyrenees, C and SW Alps, 2000 m; screes, rocks, pastures.

Perennial 6-10 cm tall, densely caespitose. Leaves flat, gray, densely pubescent. Flowers numerous, 12-20 mm long, yellow, IV-V.
