Distribution: SE Alps. 

Perennial mat-forming of small leaf rosettes. Leaves ca. 0.4 cm long, linear. Flowering stems 5-8 cm long. Flowers 2-5 per stem, large, white. Fl. V-VI.

Distribution: China, Afghanistan, Himalaya, Kashmir, Mongolia, Nepal, Russia (Siberia), 1400-3500 m; limestone rocks. 

Perennial terrestrial or epipetric. Stems 5-30 cm long or more, creeping. Main stems branched throughout, reddish or brown.

 

Geographische Verbreitung: China, Afghanistan, Himalaya, Kashmir, Mongolei, Nepal, Russland (Sibirien), 1400-3500 m; Kalkfelsen.

 

Immergrüne Staude. Stämme 5-30 cm lang oder mehr, schleich. Hauptstamm reich verzweigt, rötlich oder braun.

 

Distribution: C, S Europe, Turkey, Caucasus, E Asia; moss-covered, wet cliffs, rock crevices in damp, shaded mountainous mixed forests.

Vegetative stems creeping. Fertile stems erect, up to 15 cm tall, atop with strobili. Leaves minute. 

 

Distribution: NE Asia, Japan, NW North America, up to 2400 m; dry rocky slopes, rocky crevices, grassy tundra. 

Perennial mats or cushion-forming on rock or terrestial. Easy growing.

Distribution: Alps, Apennines, Carpathians; rocky or grassy slopes, acid.

Tufted perennial 10 cm tall, woody at base, white or grey woolly. Basal leaves pinnatifid or lobes. Flowerheads 1.2-1.5 cm across, 6-8 composed in dense corymbs. Flowers yellow. Fl. V-VI. 

Distribution: E Alps; calcareous soil. 

Perennial up to 5 cm tall. Leaves roundig, ca. 0.5-1 cm across. Flowers solitary atop the scapes, bell-shaped, fringed at margins, white or pale lilac, inside with violet nerves. Fl. IV-V.

 

Geographische Verbreitung: E Alpen; kalkhaltige Böden.

Staude bis zu 5 cm hoch. Blätter roundig, ca. 0,5-1 cm Durchmesser. Blüten einzeln, glockenförmig, an den Rändern weiß oder blass lila, innen mit violetten Nerven gesäumt. Blütezeit IV-V.

Distribution: Alps, Carpathians, Rhodope Mountains and Apennines, 1500-3100 m above sea level; outcrops, loose grasslands, calcifuge, on acid soils. 

Perennial 2-10 cm high. Leaf blades 0.5-2 cm broad, round to round kidney-shaped. Flower 1, rarely 2. Corolla 8-15 mm long, narrow bell-shaped, lavender-violet. Fl. IV-V.

Distribution: C and CS USA, 100-1200 m; rocky and sandy soil, outcrops. 

Perennial up to 20-40 cm tall. Leaves subterete. Flowers 18-25 mm across, pink to red-purple, in cymose inflorescences overtopping leaves. Fl. V-X.

 

Verbreitung: C- und CS USA bis1200 m; felsige und sandige Boden.

 

Staude bis zu 20-40 cm hoch. Blätter zylindrisch, sukkulentisch. Blüten 18-25 mm breit, rosa bis rot-lila. Blütezeit V-X.

Distribution: mountains of Europe.

Perennial up to 10 cm in flowering period. Leaves on much shortened stems, in semi-rosettes. Racemes 2-5-flowered, with peduncle ca. 6 cm long. Flowers 6-8 mm in diameter, sky blue-lilac. Fl. VI-VII.
