Perennial ca. 2-4 cm tall. Main stems woody with age. Leaves 1-2 cm long, evergreen. Flowering stems short. Inflorescence heads 1-2 cm across. Flowers blue. Fl. V-VI.

Tufted perennial, subacaulescent. Flowering stems 7-15 cm long, erect. Leaf blades orbiculate, deeply 5-lobed. Inflorescence dense, structured from racemes. Flowers with reddish or dark rose, campanulate hypanthium, dark reddish at apex sepals and spreading, pink, 2-2.5 mm long petals. Fl. VI-VII.
Distribution: Bulgaria, Romania, formerly Yugoslavia, Greece; grassy places, among shrubs.
